The start-up of the Schwelgern coke plant was an important milestone for Duisburg as a steel production location.
As the cleanest and most advanced coke plant in the world, it sets environmental standards no only through improved technologies, but also in visual terms with a unique color scheme designed by Friedrich Ernst v. Garnier.
